About
The Hey Bible Podcast was built to make the World English Bible — a complete, public-domain English translation of the Bible — more accessible by reading it aloud and publishing one book each month as a podcast. Free, ad-free, and works in any podcast app.
A Working Dev’s Hero project
Hey Bible is a project from Working Dev's Hero, an AI-enabled software development company. The entire production pipeline — verse generation, chapter stitching, monthly book compilation, and release — was built end-to-end using Hermes running on Venice.ai.
Get the app
Hey Bible is a free and easy to use app for searching Bible verses. Save your favorite verses, add notes, and create beautiful, unique images of your favorite Bible verses and share them with your friends.
How it’s made
- Text: World English Bible, public domain — sourced from the WEB USFX XML in seven1m/open-bibles.
- Voice: Generated with the “Bill” voice from ElevenLabs, called via the Venice AI API.
- Hosting: Cloudflare — site (Workers Static Assets), audio files (R2), and DNS.
- Source: Open source on GitHub.
Schedule
Verses are generated daily, chapters are stitched as soon as their last verse is recorded, books are compiled on the 25th of each month, and released as podcast episodes on the 1st. The full Bible is roughly 31,000 verses — about 75 hours of audio — which works out to several years of monthly book releases.
